Introduction of Tea

• It is believed that the best green tea is produced during the first harvest of the year, which falls in early April to mid-May.
• Tea is a beverage derived from the leaves of a plant called Camellia Sinensis. There are different varieties of the plant – spread throghout the world in various countries but all beverages called ‘tea’ specifically come from that one main plant.
• The oldest Camellia Sinensis tea plant is in China. It’s thought to be 3,200 years old.
