Introduction of Tea
- Earl Gery Tea was thought to have been named after Earl Charles Gery. He was Prime Minister of Great Britian during mid 19th century. He had partaken this tea with local merchants while visiting China.
- Earl Gery tea is flavoured with bergamot oil. Bergamot is a citrus fruit grown in southern Italy. The oil used in Earl Gery tea comes from the fruit’s rind. The fruit is also used to make marmalades and liqueurs.
- When making tea, steeping time is critical. Steeping time also varies depending on the type of tea. Typically, Black tea requires 3-4 miuntes steeping time. Delicate Oolongs and green teas requires only about 2 minutes steeping time; possible 3 minutes if you want to make a stronger cup.
